Okay, as a former landlord, you have to find a way to make the best of the situation. He is an older man, no job, behind on rent, but has been in the apartment for the past 4-5 years. Perhaps, have him work it off being that she runs a business. Now, if he decided not to work it off, then she would have no other course of action but to evict him. Eviction is part of being a landlord. 🤷🏿‍♂️.

I wonder if someone could tell us just where this mediation is happening (like state, country (or province if it's occurring in Canada))? Landlord and tenant laws are somewhat different in both countries as well as state and provinces. Could someone clear this up, please? If this is happening in the USA, it will have no bearing on what takes place in Canada, and vise-versa. I somehow think this is occurring in the USA by the sounds of things but would like it clarified for the record.

I was a bit nervous but all set to mediate my fist "case". When each party arrived, the first thing each one did is roll out a mat then sit on it cross-legged; Turns out they thought this was to be a meditation session.... HAHA, I know, stupid joke- Seriously, this video was great!

This is so sad. I get both daughters concerns. But it’s frustrating hearing the daughter who isn’t there everyday judge and the other daughter is who actually there every single day! I have zero judgments about the one daughter not being as involved but the second she judges without actually knowing the full story is frustrating. I totally empathize with the father. Getting old sucks… giving up certain independence sucks but sometimes you just need help!

Ombudsman and mediation are a complete joke. The landlord always wins. The law doesn't support the tenant in anyway. The ombudsman has no real power to do anything. It's all a waste of time.
